The CIA Connection: Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment *IN PERSON* facilitated by Laura Guggino-Hastings – 8:30-2:30pm
What happens when curriculum, instruction, and assessment truly work together? This full-day workshop explores how aligning what we teach, how we teach, and how we assess learning creates clearer, more effective instruction and stronger student outcomes. Participants move beyond lesson planning in isolation and instead design cohesive, standards-aligned learning experiences. Educators engage in hands-on work unpacking standards, designing learning objectives, and selecting high-impact instructional strategies such as mini-lessons, guided practice, and “I Do, We Do, You Do.” Attention is also given to engagement strategies, differentiation, and scaffolding for diverse learners. A strong focus is placed on assessment as a tool for learning, including formative strategies like exit tickets, conferencing, rubrics, and observational data. Participants can apply the CIA framework by revising or creating a lesson or unit they can immediately use. Educators leave with practical tools, templates, and a clear framework for strengthening instructional coherence and student learning. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1 consortium seat. If district pays, district approved must be confirmed prior to start of session.
