Each step will be introduced and modeled using a completed storyline unit on kinematics\, created by the facilitator. Participants will then apply each step to begin developing their own storyline unit in a different content area in their subjects. This “learn by doing” format ensures that by the end of the session\, teachers will leave with a solid framework for a standards-based\, phenomena-driven unit they can continue developing and use in their own classrooms. Learning Targets: 1. Analyze a fully developed kinematics unit aligned to NGSS using the 10-step storyline design 2. Work through each of the 10 steps for a unit of their choosing\, with support and peer feedback 3. Explore high-quality resources for phenomena\, assessments\, and learning performances 4. Build confidence in implementing three-dimensional teaching and learning. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit.
